A 3 bedroom home within a B Listed former church. A sensitive ‘light touch’ approach was taken to creating a modern interior freestanding from the listed building and it’s key features to maintain the historical integrity. Full height stained glass windows in each gable remain, along with other features such as timber panelling and stone pulpit. These features can be experienced on both levels of the church. The new stair allows for a close up view of the original window detailing. Crisp white walls and glass balustrades provide a juxtaposition between the new and old.
Modern interventions include formation of new window openings in a previously blank wall of the church, installation of underfloor heating and renewables.
